GripShiftSlide has been a big fan of Triple H Liveries for quite some time now, yet we wanted to know more about the man behind these amazing designs. Creating recreations of real world drift liveries for the Forza community is no easy task there are not many people who can create liveries to the high standard’s that Tripple H does.
GSS: What made you start creating race livery’s for Forza?
I would go to drifting events and come home searching for a design I saw and couldn’t find it so I just started making replicas for myself. After some positive feedback I started sharing them and making more.

GSS: What Program do you use to create your designs?
Everything I design on Forza is created with the paint editor tools within the game.

GSS: Are you a big fan of Australian Drift?
Yes always try to get to the local events like ADGP, DCA, QLD State Series and Stadium Drift Australia while also watching the other ones on TV.

GSS: Have you always played racing sims?
Yes I have been into racing games ever since i can remember playing games like the Need For Speed series, GT 1 & 2, Colin McRac Rally series, V8 Supercars (TOCA) and a lot more. I always enjoy a good racing game.

GSS: Do you design your own Liveryies for race cars? or do just recreate existing Liveries?
Probably 95% of my designs are replicas and I make my own designs on Forza but mainly for myself only.

GSS: Who inspires you?

Definitely my children inspire me, my daughter has a disability she has been through a lot in her life and is one of the happiest people I know.

GSS: Have you always been into motorsports?
Yes I’ll always been into some type of Motorsports over the years V8 Supercars, rally, and drift.

GSS: Would you like this to be your day job?

No it’s always been for fun and to take my mind off other thing’s, making Liveries for Forza will not become my day job.

GSS: How do you first start your designs?
I start by searching Facebook and Instagram for pictures of the design I want to make. I collect pictures of the car from different angles and the I go looking for logos of there sponsors. After I have enough pic’s I start by laying down the design on the side of the car and work my way around. Finishing with creation and placement of all the sponsors logos.

GSS: Do you only design for Forza?
Yes because it takes so long to do one design I prefer to only do the Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon series and I enjoy playing the game as well.

GSS: Are all of your works Australian inspired?
Yes I try to keep all my designs Australian but do have one or two that are not.

GSS: How long do your designs take to create?
I have never really timed how long it take’s for me to make a livery, It depends on the design an easier one like Drift School Australia s13 would’ve taken about 6 to 8 hours and designs like Blaze Unit, Levi, Boettcher, Driftsquid and Yates would’ve definitely taken well over 24 hours to finish.
[x_video_embed type=”16:9″][/x_video_embed]
GSS: What car do you drive and what car would you like to be drive?
Would love to own a VK Group A/3 and I drive a VZ wagon. I know my next car will be a wheelchair accessible van for my daughter which we are trying to raise money for.
If anyone can spare a few dollars to help Maddie to get a wheelchair accessible van please go to gofundme.com/madisyne Thank You.
[x_video_embed type=”16:9″][/x_video_embed]
GSS: Are you the only person creating Australian drift livery’s for Forza?
No I don’t think so I have seen some other Australian drift designs around in the public lobbies.

GSS: How long have you been doing this for?
I’ll started painting back on Forza Motorsports 2 so I think that was around 2007. I started painting Dora designs on forza Motorsport 2, 3 and 4 just so my daughter who has Holoprosencephaly would let me play as she hated me playing Forza and then I worked my way up to making replicas on forza 4.

GSS: Are there any other artists you work with?
With Forza motorsports and Forza Horizon series on Xbox One you can’t work with other players.

GSS: Do you only concentrate on popular drifters or do you try and cover them all?
Yes I try to cover them all it doesn’t bother me if your popular or not just as long as you have a got a good design.

GSS: What is you favorite racing sim of all time?
With out a doubt Forza Motorsports 4 the cars and tracks on the game are just the best combination as well as the clubs, auction house and storefront. With multiplayer and custom public lobbies it is so easy to find players who want to play! from Cruising, Car shows, Racing, Tandem, Point drifting, Tag, Drag and Limbo.

GSS: Do people request designs from you?
Yes I had a lot requests for design and logos over the years It would be nice to get to all of them but it just isn’t possible.
Help Triple H raise funds for his daughter Madisyne who suffers from Holoprosencephaly and needs a new wheelchair accessible van, every dollar makes a difference.

Indie games have been on the rise in the last five years, in 2015 we saw some great racing games released from major studios. Games like Project Cars and Need For Speed[2015] have dominated the genre. Yet there is a new player in this arena! A game that has been developed not by a team of hundreds but by one man. Yes that’s right! The game goes by the name of (Drift Streets Japan) and it will cost the grand sum of $6.99 USD.

Now you may be thinking what kind of game will you be getting for such a low price? Well if you’re expecting a large array of virtual achievement badges than this is not the game for you. This is the type of game that grows on you it doesn’t have all the fancy bells and whistle’s we have now become accustomed to. Although it has something else… character! That’s right this game will take you back in time! When you may ask? Back to a time when Grand Turismo 2 was the top game on the racing sim charts and you would stay up all night trying to win races to buy parts for your car.

If you have ever modified your car you will be familiar with the excitement of getting a new part. This is where the games magic lies! You get hooked! Drifting earns you money you spend that money on parts and the cycle continues! Soon Car tuning takes over and you are spending lots of time perfecting the handling of your car. From camber to offset your car will be drifting like a pro or drifting like a pig! It’s all in the set up!

Akina is the games original track! A proper down hill mountain touge, with nothing but corners. This track is a first and second gear limit basher! Linking drifts and keeping a drift combo score the whole way through the track is almost impossible.

One of the best things about this game is its updates! Constantly evolving and morphing to suit the players needs. There is also a Forum that supports the game where you can find all kinds of hints and tricks plus drift teams!

Drift team? yes gangs of people who get together and drift as one! Virtually! I never thought i would see the day when we would have virtual teams but that day has come.

Originally adapted from a phone game and now ported to PC. This is how the game used to look in the android version you can see all its touch controls. With the PC version you can control it via the keyboard or steering wheel. Playing this game with a wheel is the most fun!

Here is an example of a crazy high score run! This would have taken some serious time to do and a hell of a lot of concentration.

This game is kinda like Daytona for drift! it is easy to pick up and play and its arcade like but still takes a fair amount of skill to become a pro.

Modding will be added to the game soon starting with track maps! this means people will be able to create their very own drift tracks!
Stay tuned this game is sure to become big and this is definitely a game you should keep your eye on! Drift Streets Japan
Thanks for reading.

Last week Australia’s top motorsport bloggers and photographers received an exclusive invite to a very special launch event for the brand new Forza motorsport game, Forza Horizon. It is the first game in the series to leave the confines of the race track and take to the open road, in a massive game world that players can explore between races.
With no expense spared, I was flown up to Sydney for the day and given a media pass to the Australian International Motor Show. Inside I was blown away by the huge displays from all the top brands like Lamborghini, Jaguar and Mercedes just to name a few and some even larger displays from some of the Japanese staples…

After a few minutes of walking through the Motor Show I was directed to an incredible set up and after a friendly chat with some fellow photographers and car nuts, we were given our instructions and a brief overview of the new game.
Our host was former race car driver, Sarah Harley.
We were given a few rounds to familiarise ourselves with the new game before taking part in a bit of friendly competition.

Some of us used the spare time wisely and got a few practice laps of the game under our belt, while others got distracted with all the friendly promo girls handing out freebies and with smiles all round it is easy to see why people were having difficulty paying attention to the game on the screens behind them.

These girls were not afraid to pull a few funny faces and have a bit of fun in front of the camera. They were some of the best personalities we have come across at an event of this sort.

After getting distracted taking a few shots of the girls, it was now time for the rest of us to get behind the wheel (Xbox wireless controller :p) and take the game for a test drive.

In front of us were eight Xbox 360 consoles, each with individual screens and a row of bucket seats for each player.

Justin Fox of Zen Garage was trying his luck against some of the countries best talent, with the games’ fast paced action and arcade like driving aids switched on, it was anyone’s game!
Switch those aids off and there was a very competent driving simulator hidden underneath all those pesky traction control and braking systems.

Onto the competition…
We were split up into two groups of eight and then got to compete in two separate heats. I was in the second heat and believe it or not finished in a triumphant 2nd place!!
After a short three lap race, I was finding the game surprisingly easy to get into. Don’t be fooled though, the game does have its challenges and quite a few unforgiving corners that are eager to claim a distracted driver!

The graphics and handling are superb, it looks and feels like any next gen racer should.
The team behind the game took the same love for cars, speed and action from the previous titles from the series and chucked them all into a massive open world racer, with a simulation like quality handling and performance system.

After both groups of eight had finished their heats, it was time for the final. There were not only bragging rights at stake because there was also an Xbox 360 up for grabs! Throw in a copy of the game and a bottle of champagne and there was some serious loot up for grabs!!

The top drivers went head to head in a final three lap race. The track was a twisty road through a dense forest across the side of a mountain range. The track was tight with two massive straight sections for maximum speed!
With surfaces changing from tarmac to gravel and dirt constantly, the car often became quite a handful to navigate through tight corners. We got the hang of it after a while and soon everyone was power sliding their Lamborghini LP570-4 around the dirt sections of the track.

After holding second place for the majority of the first two laps, a group of cars had caught up to me and soon I was involved in what can only be described as all out war!!
After the demolition derby took place I managed to come out with only a few strips of my original paint still stuck to the car and crossed the checkered flag in 5th place.
First place along with all the spoils went to Rory from Downshift-Aus. He had also made the trip interstate for the event and so it was a well deserved win, with some of the quickest and cleanest laps of the day!
After the final race we stayed back with a group of other photographers and battled it out in a few different cars and tried out some of the other tracks available. The game will be released on the 23.10.12 exclusively on Xbox 360 around the globe!
More on the Motor Show soon!
