On a stormy night at the foot of the Bolte bridge a small gathering of JDM cars were preparing to come together for a car meet and mini photoshoot. I decided to tag along to see what these JDM enthusiasts were up to.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2823.jpg" alt=""><br />
The first car I saw as I arrived was this chunky KE70 sitting on a nice set of Superlight&#8217;s with just the right amount of offset. This had me excited for what I might see next!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2838.jpg" alt=""><br />
This tastefully modified GC8 WRX caught my eye with its clean paint work and classic wheels. It soon became apparent that this JDM meet had a strong Subaru presence.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2841.jpg" alt=""><br />
The Subaru Forester seemed to be the most popular vehicle of choice, being as they are almost inconspicuous to the highway patrol. Apart from when you have the mighty rising sun painted on your intercooler.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2846.jpg" alt=""><br />
A popular engine swap for the older Foresters is the EJ205/EJ207 from the WRX, this type of thing would definitely make a great sleeper.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2828.jpg" alt=""><br />
There is always a sneaky euro at a JDM meet and this time it was a rather sleek BMW Z4.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2826.jpg" alt=""><br />
The owner of this E85 BMW Z4 M coupe made sure to park away from the main action so he could make a quick exit encase the boys in blue arrived.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2834.jpg" alt=""><br />
Siting on a nice set of XXR 521 wheels this turbo second generation Subaru Forester looked just right and not overdone.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2830.jpg" alt=""><br />
It wasn&#8217;t all Forester&#8217;s there were even some Nissan&#8217;s in the mix, this 180sx had a louvered/vented hood giving it a seriously aggressive look.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2842.jpg" alt=""><br />
A nicely modified mix of both 86 and BRZ were competing for the best spots under the bridge. Even a recent recall on the 86/brz power steering rack didn&#8217;t stop these guys from attending.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2845.jpg" alt=""><br />
Although there were many Subaru Foresters in attendance this is the one that really stood out among the others with its clean black look and huge STI wheels.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm_dock/NSP_2857.jpg" alt=""><br />
Considering how cold and crazy windy it was, to see so many cars attending this car meet for the JDM store was great to see. It was so windy that with every large gust of wind I had to hold down my camera on the tripod to stop it tipping over! The JDM store looks like it may host more car meets soon and we can&#8217;t wait to see them gather more momentum in the scene.<br />
Thanks for Reading,<br />
Grant</p>

<p>Another month, another meet.<br />
With planning left to the last second the meet nearly didn&#8217;t go ahead this month.<br />
A few days before the end of the month someone decided to announce that the meet was on and just like that, a few days later we saw over 100 cars mix it up under Melbourne&#8217;s iconic Bolte bridge.<br />
<span id="more-2275"></span><br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/2.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="975"><br />
One of the first cars to catch my eye was this black on black Accord Euro, with Illest everything!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/3.jpg" alt=""><br />
With a sticker on every side&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/4.jpg" alt=""><br />
Even on the center caps!! This guy love his Illest gear!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I2906_1.jpg" alt=""><br />
There was plenty of the usual suspects, like this simple S15 with dished out rear wheels.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I2926.jpg" alt=""><br />
With about 15+ meets under the bridge in South Melbourne we have started to go a bit &#8216;artsy&#8217; with our shots&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I2936.jpg" alt=""><br />
There was a strong Toyota presence at the meet with plenty of cool old schoolers like this KE26 wagon.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I2939.jpg" alt=""><br />
External oil cooler for the win!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I2947.jpg" alt=""><br />
For a second I didn&#8217;t think anyone was driving this car!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/5.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="975"><br />
Something was telling me to take a photo of this JZX100 Chaser, it&#8217;s as if there was a sign from above!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3081.jpg" alt=""><br />
Heath&#8217;s Datsun wagon stole some attention from some of the newer cars.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/15.jpg" alt=""><br />
Everyone seems to really appreciate the effort it takes to keep something like this on the road.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I2972.jpg" alt=""><br />
Rumor has it the owner has a new car up his sleeve, we can&#8217;t wait to see what he brings out to the next meet!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/10.jpg" alt=""><br />
One of the loudest cars of the day.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/11.jpg" alt=""><br />
External gauges help keep an eye on the angry rotary engine sitting in the bay.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I2993.jpg" alt=""><br />
As the years go on the earlier EVO&#8217;s get better with age!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3014.jpg" alt=""><br />
A rare sight at these meets, An FN2R Civic with a nice and simple wheel combo the car is transformed.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3027.jpg" alt=""><br />
Looking down the line we couldn&#8217;t leave this red EVO alone.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/9.jpg" alt=""><br />
Perfect choice of wheels with Volk CE28&#8217;s in bronze!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/9b.jpg" alt=""><br />
We also loved the carbon canards hanging off the front bar!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/21.jpg" alt=""><br />
New Australian reality tv show&#8230; So You Think You Can Scrape?<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/14.jpg" alt=""><br />
I would love to drive an EK Civic like this for a daily, not that it would be very functional at that height&#8230; Regardless I was in love!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/IMG_6348.jpg" alt=""><br />
More puddle shots!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3034.jpg" alt=""><br />
In case you can&#8217;t tell by these photos, it is in fact the middle of winter here in Melbourne.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/7.jpg" alt=""><br />
Hiding in the pack of grey and black cars we found this red Mazda, this isn&#8217;t the first time we have had a shot of this hot hatch grace these pages.<br />
The popularity of these MPS hatches will sky rocket when their second hand price falls.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3037.jpg" alt=""><br />
The naughty corner of the meet, a few falcon owners came to check out the meet.<br />
The red one is a bit of a rocket and believe it or not these were probably the most behaved cars at the meet!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3044.jpg" alt=""><br />
Check out this Toyota Cald&#8230;. Wait what? This is actually a Honda Civic with a crazy body kit&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3046.jpg" alt=""><br />
Complete with personalized brake discs!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3053.jpg" alt=""><br />
JDMST regular Jimmy looking less than happy.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3055.jpg" alt=""><br />
We found a second sexy red Evo hiding in the group too!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/19.jpg" alt=""><br />
Stay tuned for more of this little white Honda Del Sol, something is very different with this coupe so we took a few shots of it for a little feature!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3061.jpg" alt=""><br />
No meet is complete with out bmx riders cutting through the crowd, that&#8217;s right all the cars with bikes on their roof racks actually use them!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3077.jpg" alt=""><br />
This R34 had a few females stopping for a look&#8230; I guess you could say it was a real &#8216;hit&#8217; with the birds!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/12.jpg" alt=""><br />
One of the best examples of an AE86 in Melbourne, we shot this car way back at the <a href="http://gripshiftslide.com/2011/11/21/classic-japan-show/">Classic JDM event</a> last year.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/8.jpg" alt=""><br />
A combination of track and street attire is always a good mix!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3095.jpg" alt=""><br />
Got dish?<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3106.jpg" alt=""><br />
The Evo 7 staring down the crowd.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I2913.jpg" alt=""><br />
A shiny Honda Accord, looking very VIP inspired.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3107.jpg" alt=""><br />
I&#8217;ve seen these plates on a 180SX drift car before 😉<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/24.jpg" alt=""><br />
With access out to the water still a few cars snuck out for a few photo opportunities.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3155.jpg" alt=""><br />
This is one wild looking S13, a bit much for some&#8230; We thought it was pretty tough!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/26.jpg" alt=""><br />
There was only a little splash of euro flavor this month, this R32 golf had a stupid amount of bass echoing off the bridge thanks to four sub woofers!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3158.jpg" alt=""><br />
Subtle blue finish on these Work XD9&#8217;s, very unique colour!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/25.jpg" alt=""><br />
My favorite wheels still&#8230; Work Sp1&#8217;s in black and a polished lip.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/QS3I3173.jpg" alt=""><br />
Melbourne&#8217;s docks provide one of the best backdrops, every time we shoot here around sunset we get a killer shot!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/18.jpg" alt=""><br />
It&#8217;s always nice to spot a sticker on a car at these meets, loved the placement too!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJULY12/GM/22.jpg" alt=""><br />
Now permanent fencing is getting installed under the bridge, this could be our very last meet under the Bolte!<br />
So the race is on to find more suitable locations to keep this community alive.<br />
Until the next one, thanks for reading.<br />
&#8211; Gwyn.</p>

<p>Well another month done means another end of month meet for the JDMStyletuning crew, with record numbers at every meet things are still looking good for Melbourne&#8217;s car scene&#8230; Despite some very frosty weather there was around 300 cars at the meet!!<br />
<span id="more-2110"></span><br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2256.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
With those kind of numbers the small area under the Bolte Bridge was soon packed fence to fence, finding a parking spot was becoming extremely difficult with cars pouring out onto the street!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2246.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Regardless of the &#8216;JDM&#8217; in the name, the meet always get its fair share of euros as well!<br />
With a healthy amount of v dubbers in attendance there was more then enough variety for those bored of the Japanese cars on show.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2249.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
It was really good to see an SW20 turbo at the meet, their popularity has really dropped off in the last 5 years and that is a real shame.<br />
They are such a nice car and the GT model has one of the best interiors of the 90&#8217;s!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2253.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
S15 Varietta, it&#8217;s a love hate for some&#8230;<br />
We like anything that is different, with the roof down it is still one very attractive car!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2258.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Sticker bombing on a whole new level!<br />
Next we will see a whole car&#8230; It&#8217;s only a matter of time.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2340.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Finally the brand new Toyota 86 makes it&#8217;s JDMST debut here in Melbourne!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0480.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
From here you can gauge the scale of how small this car really is, being very similar dimensions to the mx5 which is a very good thing!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2291.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
The hero car of 2012!<br />
It&#8217;s vital that the FT86 succeeds worldwide to remind the Japanese auto manufactures that they need to sell performance based vehicles and they should never leave their heritage to die.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0532.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
The Galant VR4 is&nbsp;often a car that gets overlooked, they&#8217;re an aggressive car with plenty of bang for buck and a heaps of boot space!<br />
So much carbon fiber goodness too!!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0524.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Classic Toyota styling and one hell of a colour combo!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2266.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
The perks of running an older car&#8230; Club registration!!<br />

Sometimes simply really is best, factory lip kit, nice wheels and one of the best paint colours to roll of a showroom floor!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2270.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Yes its is the famous crazy loud RS Impreza, with a brand new set of teeth, the owner tells me that these teeth have already tasted blood!<br />
Watch out for the feature on this car coming in the next few months!!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0538.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Ex Auto Salon car, check out this crazy interior!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2273.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
There is nothing like a little sun shower in the middle of the day, Melbourne living up to it&#8217;s bizarre weather patterns like always.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2282.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
A very shiny intake manifold on this Alfa, Everybody stopped to stare.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2301_1.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
The little red AW11 MR2, still clean as hell from the last meet!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0560.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Old school with a touch of luxury, this Creseida would make for a killer daily!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2306.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Happy Euro is happy!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2313.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
With nearly 300 cars at just one time there was nearly 600 people running around, ridiculous numbers for such an informal event!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0581.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
This KE70 has graced our pages a few times, it&#8217;s great to see owners so active and attending so many events.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2326.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
The cars kept creeping through all afternoon, trying to find that special empty spot.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2329.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
This R34 was utterly perfect, such a rare colour for a GT-R and the wheel fitment and colour combo was spot on!!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2331.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Everyone dressed warm, those that didn&#8217;t huddled in cars for fear of dying in the sub 10 degree weather!!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0674.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Talk about setting a parking trend.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2342.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
We spotted these gangster as valve caps on this little MX5, it&#8217;s the little details that make a car.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0624.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
The Nissan S15&#8217;s seem to double in numbers at every meet.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2355.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
The cars made full use of the area, bumper to bumper parking meant it was extremely hard to get a shot of just one car in particular!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0675.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
A wild pack of Subaru&#8217;s appeared<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0790.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
There where no more sun showers, soon the sun faded and the rain came down hard!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0871.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Despite the downpour the cars remained and the show went on.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2361_1.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
One of the good old Evos, these always remind me of the PS1 game Colin Macre 2<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2365.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
It&#8217;s a shame there is a fence between the meet and the water, this space would make for some awesome photo opportunities!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2380.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Some of the clouds passed just to tease us with a few final minutes of the setting sun.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2387.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
Vyet&#8217;s track spec s2000 stopped the show for many who were in awe of this deadly little convertible, absolutely no hard parking here&#8230; This car gets driven!!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2398.jpg" alt="line up" width="650" height="950"><br />
Awesome little Datsun 1200 Ute now with a new engine too!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2456.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
GSS contributor, Melvin Tang&#8217;s Subbie hatch sitting very well on some Enkie wheels.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/QS3I2474.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
One of the We heart Car comp winners, Lon in her impressive little black MX5.<br />
No wonder she won a prize!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0899.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
New wheels for this familiar looking Datsun wagon, we are really digging the new look!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/JDMSTJUNE12/leigh/IMG_0952.jpg" alt="line up"><br />
After some unsavory behavior from some people leaving the event, the meet was quickly over and cars started to leave.<br />
A reminder to all those attending, don&#8217;t act like dick&#8217;s, dropping burnouts and the police will leave us alone.<br />
With a massive turnout in spite of some rain and freezing temperatures we can&#8217;t wait for summer!!<br />
Thanks for looking,<br />

<p>These days any excuse to get together will do!<br />
Last Monday was a public holiday, so a bunch of Ozhonda forum members decided to have a small meet  for Victorian Honda owners.<br />
<span id="more-2046"></span><br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0823.jpg" alt="" /><br />
After a few posts on the forums and a quick heads up on our Facebook page, the location and time was set!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0782.jpg" alt="" /><br />
As we were arriving straight from a feature car shoot we were a tad bit early&#8230;<br />
We weren&#8217;t exactly sure how many cars would come out with everyone recovering from the long weekend, however the turnout was much better than the last Ozhonda meet we attended. This time around 40+ cars were in attendance and a few surprises too!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0849.jpg" alt="" /><br />
As with any Honda meet, Civics are still the chariot of choice. With half a dozen EK&#8217;s,EG&#8217;s and a few EP3&#8217;s out and about among all the other Honda&#8217;s.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/4.jpg" alt="" /><br />
It seemed nearly every car had the bonnet up at some point and with good reason too! As most of these little hot hatches weren&#8217;t just your regular grocery getters!!<br />
Nearly all the cars where equipped with Honda&#8217;s infamous DOHC Vtec engines, a host of hop-up parts like aftermarket headers, cold air intakes and a plethora of tuning and suspension parts.<br />
But getting groceries is serious business it would seem!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0914.jpg" alt="" /><br />
As we said earlier, we had just finished shooting a feature car, so we invited the owner and friends along to see what the Honda kids get up to these days.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0780.jpg" alt="" /><br />
The three white imposters stole a bit of attention away from some of the Honda owners, little did they know both the R33, 180SX and Impreza are all N/A powered.<br />
The Subaru packs quite a punch, with a worked SOHC engine it surprises anyone that is game enough to stand near it when the engine turns over!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0814.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Did we say there were a lot of popped bonnets at the meet?<br />
Nearly every single car was showing off something under the hood that day!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://gripshiftslide.com/photos/Honda_6_12/5.jpg" alt="" /><br />
I still have the S2000 high on my &#8216;Cars I need to own&#8217; List, with prices continuing to drop it might happen sooner than I think.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/6.jpg" alt="" /><br />
JDMST supporter sticker!!<br />
Now they don&#8217;t hand these out to just anyone! Well maybe anyone who pays&#8230;<br />
Want one? Simply head to <a href="http://www.jdmstyletuning.com/">http://www.jdmstyletuning.com/</a><br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/7.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Such a simple interior, and that digital dash&#8230;<br />
I really need to cross this off my list!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/8.jpg" alt="" /><br />
As well as the Civic&#8217;s, there were a fair few Preludes at the meet. I must say, I have never come across a 3rd generation Prelude with as clean an engine bay as this!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/9.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="975" /><br />
Somehow I don&#8217;t think the scrape sticker was really necessary for it&#8217;s current height&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/10.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Now this is just your standard Honda S2000&#8230;<br />
F20C engine with your umm a giant oil catch&#8230;<br />
No wait, ummm a window wiper jet&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/11.jpg" alt="" /><br />
&#8230; No, that&#8217;s just a dirty great big turbo charger!<br />
The car is currently putting out about 298 rear wheel KW on just 13PSI, there is apparently room to move with this and there was talk of it hitting nearly 400KW with a previous tune!!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0757.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Mr Neil Gray of Primal Garage fame&#8217;s daily EG Civic, with a passion for sliding high powered rear wheel drive imports and owning one of the best looking 180SX in the country, you can imagine that this isn&#8217;t exactly your standard EG Breeze&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0747.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Running a B18C2 from an Integra VTI-R and 5 stud conversion this is definitely an exciting daily driver!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0835.jpg" alt="" /><br />
One of the only Anime inspired cars in Australia, this tiny Excel turned some heads when it rolled in!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/14.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Nity&#8217;s FD looking just as good as ever. At every meet he goes to, people are just drawn to this carbon draped Civic.<br />
As soon as the carbon hood is propped open a small crowd forms, like feeding ducks by a pond.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0886.jpg" alt="" /><br />
LS Integra&#8217;s are becoming a rare sight, so it is nice to see one getting looked after. How clean is the paintwork?<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/15.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Love it or hate it, this car gets attention for all the right and wrong reasons depending who you talk to. We love it!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/16.jpg" alt="" /><br />
We are also very pleased to have made the windshield hall of fame!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/17.jpg" alt="" /><br />
I absolutely love shooting under the Bolte bridge, where else can you find such an awesome background and not be disturbing the public and creating a problem for the local police?!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0798.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Yes this is a genuine EK9 Type R Civic, I think I&#8217;m in love!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/18.jpg" alt="" /><br />
From little things, big things grow!<br />
This turned into around 40-50 cars by the end.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0752.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Joshua&#8217;s bagged Accord now sporting some &#8220;defect me now&#8221; plates&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0890.jpg" alt="" /><br />
It really was nice to see a bunch of very different Honda&#8217;s mixing it up together, normally it is only one group off together and things tend to get a bit too repetitive.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0821.jpg" alt="" /><br />
For anyone who is not big into the Honda scene, some modifications can go unnoticed or unappreciated.<br />
The rear control arms under this EK Civic are worth a few shiny pennies!!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0758.jpg" alt="" /><br />
One very low and stripped out DC2 Integra sitting on some widened steelies, something gaining some popularity here in Oz.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/20.jpg" alt="" /><br />
The car scene has changed dramatically in last 12 months, since attending meets early last year enthusiasts have turned each event into a mini car show.<br />
Everyone walks around and mixes with other groups and they talk cars, parts and more cars!<br />
It really is a breath of fresh air to an otherwise boring experience of parking a car and standing next to it.<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0768.jpg" alt="" /><br />
To think it&#8217;s pretty much winter and we are still able to get an exciting bunch of cars out in the minus 10 degree weather, this summer will be Melbourne&#8217;s biggest year for modified cars and like minded enthusiasts.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/21.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Another EK9 Type R! Seriously perfect from factory!<br />
If I won the lottery this would be one car I&#8217;d purchase and lock away for many, many years!<br />
<img decoding="async" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/grant/QS3I0882.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Being the middle of the year the sun soon faded just past 5pm, having headed to this meet straight from a feature car shoot that started at the crack of dawn, we were also fading so it was time to head home!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/Honda_6_12/22.jpg" alt="" /><br />
Grant and myself finished our last lap of the cars before packing up and heading home, everyone else still continued exploring and chatting amongst themselves as we left and the light disappeared.<br />
If you haven&#8217;t been to a recent car meet, make sure you are a fan on our facebook page to get the latest meet and cruise info and get yourself along to the next one!<br />
Otherwise you are missing out!<br />
Thanks for reading,<br />

Well another JDMST end of month meet done and dusted! Melbourne pulled out all the stops for another impressive turnout.<br />
With over 360 car in attendance that&#8217;s a record turnout for the recovering Melbourne car scene, with hoon laws and a defects at an all time high for the garden state. It just goes to show the level of dedication these car nuts have&#8230;<br />
Here is Johnny&#8217;s tough as nails Corolla still wearing it&#8217;s group sticker from the recent Drift Matsuri here in Melbourne.<br />
<span id="more-1674"></span><br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/2.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Under the hood is just as clean as the outside and yes, that&#8217;s an SR20DET sitting there.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/3.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
The car is the perfect combination of function and form, inside is a classic deep cone Nardi wheel, Dildo shift knob and one of the coolest touches I&#8217;ve seen. A working personal fan!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/4.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
The quality of cars was already high just at the pre meet, with one of the nicest street driven S15&#8217;s in Melbourne, also worth a note is the incredibly cool S14 parked next too it!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/5.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
At the pre meet everyone had chance to have chat and check out each others rides.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/6.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Soon the light faded and it was time to get moving.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/7.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
A nice rolling shot of the very, very low S14 on the way to the meet.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/8.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Once at the meet it was time run around and get as many shots before the light was gone, plenty of &#8216;VIP&#8217; styled rides made it out for the night.<br />
This Accord was part of the Team Agentz crew, these guys definitely have good taste!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/9.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
White seemed to be the colour of choice at this meet, here&#8217;s a nice line up of S chassis Nissan&#8217;s together.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/10.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="411" /><br />
Clean behind on this EVO, the shaved badge look is very nicely executed!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/11.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="412" /><br />
This MX5 from NSW is getting around to a lot of the meets here in Melbourne, wondering if the owner has moved down?<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/12.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="415" /><br />
More white cars! This is one of the best looking models of the WRX to date, last of the GD series. I hope Subaru get back on their game in the future.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/13.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="411" /><br />
Lowered just enough on some nice Work wheels, this is the perfect 4 door car for me.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/14.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="415" /><br />
JDMST not just for JDM cars, plenty of Euro&#8217;s made it out as well and yes that is a BMW on a set of TE37SL!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/15.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="411" /><br />
There was actually a few nice EDM cars out, another BMW on a set of regular Rays TE37.<br />
This combination has been very popular over seas!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/16.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="415" /><br />
Stanced Audi, this is something I would love to more of in Victoria. A stronger presence of modified euros.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/17.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Team Agentz delivers again!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/18.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="420" /><br />
How good does this 5 series BMW look, the dished wheels set it off!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/19.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="403" /><br />
So much rubber on this Bayside Blue GT-R!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/20.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="411" /><br />
Honda&#8217;s were out in force on the night, this JDM front DC2 Integra with the love/hate Mugen rear wing.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/21.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="405" /><br />
Another Team Agentz car, an RB1 Odyssey dropped on some Work D3S&#8217;s.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/22.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="405" /><br />
EG Civic with 5 lug conversion and Work SP1&#8217;s, I wonder whats under the bonnet?<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/23.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="410" /><br />
Easily one of the best looking EVO&#8217;s on our streets, check out all the carbon additions!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/24.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Another great looking Mazda, MX5&#8217;s are becoming the car of choice with younger drivers as the prices keep coming down!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/ALANJDM/25.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="379" /><br />
Loving the zip tied front lip on this Mitsubishi EVO, perfect balance of clean and baller!<br />
Congratulation to the organizers for another successful meet with out to much trouble and stupid behavior, with the way these meets are growing a new location is in the works.<br />
Keep your eye&#8217;s peeled on our Facebook page for up to date info on these meets and other events here in Melbourne.<br />

What seemed like a normal JDM Style Tuning meet soon became one of the biggest meets in Melbourne, with recent meets seeing as many as 100 modified cars this one doubled that figure and then some!<br />
The monthly meets are becoming quite the event and each one is like a car show. At every meet everyone walks around and checks out all the other cars instead of just standing next to their car giving everyone strange looks.<br />
<span id="more-1399"></span><br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/2.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
The quality of the cars was as good as ever! This Evo X looked great with the sun setting on it&#8217;s metallic paint.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/3.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Everyone&#8217;s favorite colour scheme on an equally popular car, Ae86&#8217;s are becoming quite the modern classic.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/4.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="975" /><br />
A mint Evo 6, not sure about all the roof racks getting around on them though.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/6.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
BF Ford Falcon on Work Emotions, definitely a fan of Japanese wheels on domestics. It really brings new life into what is otherwise, an overdone car.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/8.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Gorgeous FD RX-7, perfect from the front.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/9.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Even better from behind, with a very nice Kakimoto exhaust.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/10.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
The Melbourne meet had been gatecrashed by this absolutely ballin&#8217; MX-5 from NSW.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/11.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Running 16&#215;8.25 on all four corners!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/12.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Stanced Vip Gloria, this crazy Y34 has been making it to quite a few meets lately.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/13.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
This was the first time I managed to get a few snaps of her alone. (That sounded wrong, didn&#8217;t it?)<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/14.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
I heart Grip-shiftslide? How awesome is the DC2 Integra on custom widened steelies.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/15.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Tough R32 Skyline with drift pipes.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/16.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="975" /><br />
One of the classic cars attending the meet was this wicked little Sunny Ute.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/17.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
The little Sunny managed to find a friend too!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/18.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Easily the most sinister looking Toyota Camry I have ever seen!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/19.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Absolutely dumped on a set of SSR MS1&#8217;s.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/20.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Another I heart Frush sticker, these things are everywhere!!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/21.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
One of the most modified Mitsubishi Evo&#8217;s getting around, MR EVO was certainly getting some attention.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/22.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
This sharp looking Evo was sitting in the corner looking very intimidating, thankfully the owner wasn&#8217;t and asked for a sticker for his windscreen. Looks great!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/23.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Two clean S13&#8217;s, one with drift pipes and one with drift tek wheels.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/24.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Gorgeous Honda S2000 on some very large Work XD9 wheels.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/25.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
There is always a car that steals the show when it arrives. This meet was no exception&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/26.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Three incredible Lotus&#8217; arrived all together in a perfect line, one Elise and two Exige&#8217;s.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/27.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
The real star of the three was this bright yellow Exige, with a personal best of 1:30 around Winton, it was a pretty serious car.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/28.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
The big reason why this was the center of attention was the engine. This Lotus was equipped with a 2 liter K20A Honda Type R engine.<br />
With a supercharger strapped to it for good measure too!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/29.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
The other Lotus&#8217; were nothing to turn your nose up at either. And this one certainly looks like it has seen a few track days.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/31.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Honda Del Sol&#8217;s are a very quirky looking car to start with, when people start fiddling with them they tend to end up looking very strange indeed.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/32.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
Luckily that&#8217;s not the case for this black CRX, it must be one of the best Del Sol&#8217;s on Australian roads. Thanks to some awesome ride height and a set of BBS meshies.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/jdm12_2/33.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433" /><br />
In the blink of an eye the meet was over and the cars started to roll out, one after another and soon the place was empty once again.<br />
With the meets becoming so large there is talk of sourcing a new location, a few JDMST forum members are in talks with the local council to get a permit so the meets become an official event and can&#8217;t be mistaken for trespassing or anything worse.<br />
Hope to see everyone at the next end of month meet, until then&#8230;<br />
Thanks for reading,<br />
&#8211; Gwyn.</p>

Two weeks ago I was invited to a Honda only meet, what was going to be a lazy Sunday evening at home turned into a busy night of moving cars and taking a few hundred photos as the sun set over Melbourne&#8217;s docks.<br />
Organized by a few friends and an attendance list of only 20+ cars, it was quite the surprise with over 60 cars in total!<br />
<span id="more-1351"></span><br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/2.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Nearly every Honda was out in force, 5 Jazz&#8217;s in total with two very modified examples.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/3.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
I have always had a soft spot for these guys, They make for a great daily around town and can look great with a new set of wheels.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/4.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="975"><br />
A black EP3R is a rare sight here in Melbourne, in a sea of white and occasionally red EP&#8217;s this was the first time I have seen one in the flesh!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/5.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
As the meet went on we arranged a few cars together for some group shots, Not only did this make for some interesting photos but nearly everyone at the meet had a D-SLR and was snapping away like crazy!<br />
I&#8217;ve never seen so many cameras at a meet before.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/6.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
One of the best looking cars in yellow!<br />
It&#8217;s good to see as S2000&#8217;s drop in price they haven&#8217;t dropped in quality.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/7.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Missing blue otherwise it would have been a full set!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/8.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
I surprise attendee was this first generation Honda Civic, this ladies and gentleman is why we have Type R&#8217;s and Nsx&#8217;s.<br />
This little guy put Honda on the map worldwide!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/9.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
While this one remained fairly standard it did have a race inspired interior, with fixed bucket seats and a racing wheel.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/10.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Such great lines, I miss seeing classics like this on the road.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/11.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
The latest generation Civic is light years away in terms of technology and manufacturing advancements, next year will mark the 40th anniversary of the Honda Civic and is definitely something to celebrate!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/12.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
The &#8216;other&#8217; K swapped FD1 civic in Melbourne, this one was converted by Seeker Motorsport here in Melbourne.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/13.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Only two FN2R Civics came to the meet, still very new on the scene they will gain popularity as their prices come down and more parts become available.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/14.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
With a bit of maneuvering we managed to get the FD Civic&#8217;s out from the crowd and do some more group shots.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/15.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Honda definitely got the rear end right on this model!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/16.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Very aggressive lines from factory,&nbsp; add a lip kit and some aero goodies and you have a monster!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/17.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
One of the only &#8216;VIP&#8217; styled cars was this superb Accord Euro.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/19.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="975"><br />
Heads turned when this came in to park.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/20.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
It really goes to show if you spend your time and choose everything carefully you can make any car stand out, right down to the placement of sticker it was spot on!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/21.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
<strong>Now onto &#8220;WHEELS OF THE MEET&#8221;&#8230;</strong><br />
I&#8217;m going to be snapping some pics of my favorite wheels from each event and hopefully compile something at the end of the year.</p>
<p>Enkie RPF1<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/22.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Volk CE28<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/23.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="975"><br />
OG Sans (BBS E50 replica)<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/24.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Work Equip 03<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/25.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Sportmax XXR 002<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/26.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
What was expect to be around 20 cars turned into 60+, all just by invitation and word of mouth.<br />
No forum posts at all!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/27.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
5 lug EG Civic.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/28.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Aside from my own car, this was the only CRX at the meet.<br />
The SiR models are extremely rare in red, in fact they&#8217;re extremely rare in anything other then black!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/29.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
During the meet two of the friendliest police officers in Melbourne showed up to see what was going on, just the night before at the at the same location during the JDMST meet a Daihatsu Charade was defected by Highway patrol!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/28B.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
The Airwalker front lip looks great on this Ep3R<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/30.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
A long time later we arranged the second biggest group for some shots.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/31.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
7 Epr3 Civic&#8217;s together is a pretty unique sight any where in the world!<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/32.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
After a few hundred photos we moved the Civic&#8217;s on to make way for the elevntybillion Integra&#8217;s&#8230;<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/33.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
This took around 30 mins to find the owners and move all the cars to right places, big thanks to Chris for taking the lead and directing everyone.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/34.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
The effort was worth it, how good do these DC2 Integra&#8217;s look together.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/35.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
After seeing a lot of Dc2&#8217;s have JDM front end conversions done I&#8217;m really starting to enjoy the original front end.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/36.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
There was also quite a few DC5&#8217;s as well.<br />
<img decoding="async" class="alignnone" src="http://photos.gripshiftslide.com/HONDA1_12/37.jpg" alt="" width="650" height="433"><br />
Looking down the line from the rear you could really see some similarities between the DC2 an newer DC5 chassis.<br />

This was a great meet with good people and great attitudes, some beautiful Hondas and no silly &#8216;Vtec-ing&#8217; up and down the street.<br />
Big thanks to Chris for organizing and the invite, hopefully we see some more meets like this in the future.<br />
Thanks for reading,<br />
